# Report theme

Style the .pptx reports SMAQ generates from your dashboards. Upload a PowerPoint template once; every report inherits the look.

The report theme controls how generated reports look — cover slide, fonts, chart colors, slide layouts. Separate from the [project theme](/documentation/projects/project-settings/project-theme.md) which styles in-app dashboards.

This page documents the **settings tab specifically** — where to access it and what permissions apply.

### Where to find it

**Settings → Report Theme** in any project.

### What this tab does

* Upload a custom .pptx template — SMAQ extracts colors, fonts, layouts.
* Or pick from built-in themes.
* Set this as the project default for new reports.

### Permissions

* **View**: any role except Chat User.
* **Edit**: Editor, Owner.

### Per-report override

Setting a theme here makes it the **project default**. Individual reports can override per-report from the report editor. See [Report themes](/documentation/features/reports/report-themes.md#per-report-theme-override).
