# Threads

Threads is Meta's text-based social platform. SMAQ supports organic Threads analytics.

### What SMAQ pulls

* Post-level metrics: views, replies, reposts, quotes, likes
* Profile-level metrics: follower count, follows
* Engagement rate and reach

### What you'll need

* A Threads account (only available where Threads has rolled out).
* A linked Instagram Business or Creator account.

### Steps to connect

1. **Data Source → Add data source**.
2. Pick **Threads**.
3. Authorize via Meta OAuth.
4. Pick the Threads profile.
5. Name and click **Connect**.

### Tips

* **API is still maturing.** Some metrics may be unavailable depending on Meta's current Threads API exposure. Watch the SMAQ changelog for new fields.
* **Cross-post detection.** If you cross-post the same content to Instagram and Threads, the two platforms report independently.

### Troubleshooting

* **"Threads not available"** — Threads access requires a linked Instagram Business/Creator account on a region where Threads has rolled out.
